Ingredients (Serves 4–6)
1 baguette or small loaf of crusty bread, sliced into ½-inch rounds
6 oz (170 g) Brie cheese, sliced
1 red apple (Honeycrisp), thinly sliced
½ cup walnut halves
2 Tbsp honey (plus more for drizzling)
1 Tbsp butter
Pinch of sea salt
Optional: sprinkle of cinnamon or thyme for garnish
Instructions
1. Prepare the Candied Walnuts
In a small skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
Add walnuts and toast for 2–3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Drizzle in 2 Tbsp honey and a pinch of salt. Stir until the walnuts are evenly coated and glossy (about 1–2 minutes).
Spread onto parchment paper to cool and harden slightly.
2. Toast the Crostini
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
Arrange bread slices on a baking sheet and brush lightly with olive oil.
Toast for 5–7 minutes, until golden and crisp.
3. Assemble
Place a slice of Brie on each toasted baguette slice.
Return to the oven for 2–3 minutes, just until the Brie begins to soften and melt.
Top each with apple slices and a few candied walnuts.
Drizzle with honey and a sprinkle of cinnamon or thyme (optional).
Serving Suggestions
Serve warm as an appetizer or alongside a fall salad with arugula and balsamic glaze.
Perfect pairing: a crisp white wine (like Sauvignon Blanc) or a sparkling cider.
