What to do with extra apples: Apple Smoothie


  1. 1 large apple, cored and chopped (leave the skin on for added fiber and nutrients)

  2. 1 ripe banana, peeled and sliced

  3. 1/2 cup Greek yogurt

  4. 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk (or any milk of your choice)

  5. 1/4 cup old-fashioned rolled oats

  6. 1-2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup (adjust to taste)

  7. 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  8. 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

  9. 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

  10. Ice cubes (optional)


  1. Prepare the Ingredients: Start by preparing the apple (core and chop), banana (slice), and gather all the other ingredients.

  2. Blending: Place the chopped apple, banana, Greek yogurt, almond milk, rolled oats, honey (or maple syrup), ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, and vanilla extract in a blender.

  3. Blend until Smooth: Blend the ingredients until smooth and creamy. If the smoothie is too thick, you can add more almond milk or water to achieve your desired consistency.

  4. Taste and Adjust: Taste the smoothie and adjust the sweetness or spice level by adding more honey, cinnamon, or nutmeg as needed.

  5. Serve: Pour the smoothie into glasses. If desired, add ice cubes for a colder smoothie.

  6. Garnish (Optional): Garnish with a sprinkle of cinnamon on top for an extra touch of flavor.
